FOCUS CAYO DISC RIVAL ROAD BIKE 2016

SRAM have been at the cutting-edge of disc brake technology for some time now so it is easy to see why Focus have integrated their Rival 22 HRD hydraulic disc brakes into their new Cayo Disc Rival Road Bike 2016. These disc brakes ensure exhilarating stopping power on every descent or flat sprint and their superb heat distributing properties ensure fears of overheating are a thing of the past.

Focus have also opted for SRAM components for the drivetrain. SRAM's fantastic Rival 22 11-speed groupset comes with as compact crankset, which is capable of getting you up and over any tough climb smoothly.

The Cayo frame comes with custom pipe diameters for each frame size. This offers an optimal ratio of weight to stiffness without sacrificing comfort. The inner installation of the cables is achieved by a removable plate, which is mounted on the front of the head tube. This ensures the cables are routed optimally and cleanly in the frame and are protected from dirt and water.

Also featured is the tapered headtube. This design reduces steering weight while increasing the headset stiffness and overall handling compliance. Focus's pressfit30 bottom bracket in conjunction with the large connection area to the frame allows for the unencumbered transfer of power through the pedals and down into the road.

For the wheelset Focus have selected the A-Class CEX CD 4.0 DB thru axle. This light but incredibly strong wheelset is ideally suited to long days in the saddle on epic mountainous rides. The wider rim profile coupled with the increased torsional rigiting means that the wheel can withstand heavy braking while still maintaining a stiff profile and superior rolling speed.

Fizik's Antares R5 Manganese saddle is what you will be spending most of your time sitting on and thankfully the comfortable padding is designed for riders with medium spine flexibility, thus making it perfect for the average rider.
